Went there for a summer BBQ, and found it not a good place for it, at least on that day. Very windy, we had to keep the portable BBQ on the ground beside the picnic table. Also it is a busy place for boat launching, so quite some traffic and noise, especially from the super powerful boats speeding on the river. When they come and go, you can not hear your friends talking. Maybe another time will be better?
Great walk for you and your dog; beautiful, long stretch of a sandy beach. Don't forget a towel for your dog and please remember to clean up after your pup. Only one garbage for their poop at the beginning of the trail... Or at least from what I saw. We didn't go into the treed area; bush is fairly dense and the trail is wide enough for one person.
Awesome park but run by some truly lazy people. This park is the last park in Richmond to extend hours in the summer and the first to close earlier in the fall. Tonight I tried to give them a heads up about a wild fire I had called into the fire department and no one even answered the door. Ridiculous! Really nice beach but it gets fewer stars due to its limited hours and crappy management.
This is one of my pup's favourite places. Great place to see if your pup is a "water dog". There is a nice breeze on those hot summer days. Great place to enjoy with your pup.
Lots of parking for boats and trailers, nice boat launching ramp. Well kept facility. Dogs love the beach and access to the river. Lots of benches and toilet facilities. The park is very nice but well used should have doggie bag dispensers visible if they have them we didn't see any plus they need more bins for doggie bags.
