Damages upon damages!!! The movers in Calgary ran out of blankets to protect our furniture and assured us that everything would be covered and properly packed before storing our goods as this move was to Ottawa. . This did NOT happen. As a result what they did not wrap was broken (shattered mirrored table, broken marble lamp base, broken antique day bed, even our wrought iron furniture was bent. scratched and scraped, too many more damages to list). We paid an extra $150.00 for our television to be properly packaged and it too arrived damaged. We were notified of our final bill late in the day before the movers were to deliver our goods not giving us enough time to secure a bank draft and then we had to pay an extra 3 percent as we had no option but to pay by credit card. This move was extremely stressful and unprofessional and I would NOT recommend this company.

Thus guys helped me to move from Toronto to Vancouver, everything came in one peace, they offered storage until I found a good place to live. Everything was in time and it was a good experience. Recommended!

If you want to be disrespected and called very derogatory and rude names before even getting an accurate estimate this is the company for you.

Chose this company because we had agreed to payment terms that were different than industry standard. As a newly single woman trying to re-establish herself and her career by moving to an adjacent province, I booked based on the agreement that I could make payments in increments and not up front as my new employer couldn't help with moving expenses and I was to start my new gig within 3 weeks. This was one of 3 companies I could have chosen. Given how compassionate Cecilia the account person was, I went with Across Canada Movers. Now the owner is claiming he would never agree to anything as ridiculous as that because moving companies never do that. Even after I consistently asked Cecilia if it was ok and if she could get approval. So now my stuff will be in storage until I make ONE full payment that includes additional charges because my shipment was overweight (above the agreed on quote of 42 cents per additional lb). These are:*fuel charge because it was overweight*additional labour man hours because it was overweight*reschedule fee because I didnt have a single payment upfront on the day of deliveryPrior to the day of delivery I confirmed all of these details including payment schedule. However none of it was held in place as soon as the driver got to my door. There was about 45 minutes of back and forth with the owner Sam who continued to tell the driver to call the cops if I refused to get off the ramp of their truck.Overall I was slighted and am not happy with the circumstance of the situation. Booking based on the circumstance and agreed on arrangements and then one party does not hold up on their end of the bargain. I trusted this company to honour the promise they made me and they have not. I have yet to see the condition of my stuff and once I do I will update this review.

BEWARE - FIND A DIFFERENT COMPANY TO USE!!! If you decide NOT to listen to my warning, then it's on you. This move happened in August of 2016. Things you should be made aware of:- My mom told them how many items we had and how many bedrooms to move and they showed up with a Penske rental truck that was too small for the load and I knew it the moment the truck pulled into the yard. The original moving day was a Saturday, they loaded what they could, possession date was on Tuesday for the new owners and they showed up on Monday, very late afternoon to load the rest of the items.- The manager of the moving company would not take my call and told his movers not to give me his direct number because he didn't want to speak with me.- As they are moving items from your home into their trucks, they are marking EVERYTHING as damaged. (ask to see their paperwork as they are filling it out.)- Cecelia seems very nice on the phone when she is getting you a quote, but the moment they deliver your damaged items, she will put you on ignore or forward you to claims where they will offer you $250.00 for over $4,000 worth of damage.- They will show up in a Penske rental vehicle, load your stuff, take it to a cross dock, unload it and reload on a transport across (in our case from Alberta to Ontario), unload in Toronto, load it on a delivery truck and deliver it. Math test people, how many items do you think they will damaged by loading and unloading that many times?!?- They called my mom at the last minute on Thursday before a long weekend Monday to say they will be delivering on Monday to have the cheque ready, she hadn't purchased a car yet and she moved to a very small town in Ontario that is a 35 minute drive to Simcoe to get to a BMO and get a money order for them but she said she can do it on Monday morning when I got there, they said no that they would deliver the items the following week and when they showed up, they EXTORTED over $1,000 in shipping fee's from my retired mother before they would off load her items. (SIC)If you decide to use these people, go into it with your eyes wide open and get insurance to cover your load. My mom was smart enough to have insurance on her shipment so her insurance company paid her back the entire amount of the shipping costs (over $11,000.00) and were going after Across Country Movers legally for the money because they labelled EVERY item as damaged as they were loading it into the truck!
