Was here for dim sum. It's probably the best dim sum I've had. The food is great and high quality and good portion. Really enjoy the menu. The liver dim sum dishes were very tasty.Only complaint is front of house is mean. I came here once and they didn't even want to serve me because I was alone. No offer to be put on waiting list.
Ordered live crab. Asked for small crab. They came back and said only has larger ones for more money.Agreed, and they brought a live crab out to show. Five minutes later they produced a cooked dish on the table. After starting to eat noticed only one claw. Complained, and they said they would offer me a dessert with no apology. Very low class and unethical.
Many varieties of dim sum and taste good. The BBQ duck is juicy with crispy skin. Other dishes are good too! Make sure to make your reservation first, or may have to wait quite some times on the weekend.
The male waiters have some impressive cleaning moves, real flashy.The cuisines are legit real Chinese, packed with flavour, rich and smooth texture from the high heated oil. I know its Richmond, but not all Asians can speak Chinese.
It is hard to call in and make a reservation. They barely will pick up the phone unless you are going to use two or more phone lines to call them at the same time! Even I want to make reservation for lunch with two weeks in advance, they said they don't have table. I asked them what about the next day's lunch, the lady told me the restaurant is fully booked as well. So, I asked her if there is any table available in the next few weeks, the lady said tables are all booked. Is it possible? or they just reserve tables for their VIP customers only?! This is very ridiculous. I will choose Kirin Starlight rather than the one in richmond.
